Web 2.0 Sidebar Blues

Today Web 2.0 and me are not.

Where has my sidebar gone? What’s going on?

Sorry folks, I suspect the site has succumbed to a hack that has impacted the templates or some other workings within the coding. As you see the sidebar has slipped ungracefully to the bottom of the page.

Yesterday, my amateur attempts to rectify the situation has only worsened the position and resulted in me overwriting the CSS and losing all the customisation work I’d spent a lot of time over previous weeks and months tuning and tweaking. So you can guess where I will be this Bank Holiday weekend. Not on a beach in South France or camped out in a wet field in the Lake District. But I will be in Henley-on-Thames tomorrow!

So for me today Web 2.0 is not. I will be trying to get the fault corrected ASAP. Not even Wordpress can help me on this!

Hey Rob,

I have had this happen to me, the side bar thing! Just check what was the last post you made when this happened, might be in the coding of that post. My prob was a picture I added that the tags weren’t closed.

This is definitely an issue of tags not being constructed properly or being closed off improperly within the body of a particular post. You can sift through recent posts for your answer, but I believe the main problem lies here.

Now hang on a second! I need to point out that Mr Pearson is the creator of this theme. And to say that I am so pleased you called by Chris is to put it mildly.

Hell man, thanks so much for popping in and pointing me in the right directions.

I have cleaned up the errant post and it has imroved the situation but not yet solved it.

At least now all those posts that disappeared are back, and the sidebar is complete. It was chopped off before I cleaned some of my coding in Naartjies.

I will continue to clean up. Tonight I will hopefully complete the CSS customization too and restore the blog to the standards Chris P expects.

Thanks again Chris.
