THIS IS AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR A YOUNG AND BRILLIANT SOUTH AFRICAN CARTOONIST’s NEW BOOK!
Most adverts are short, sharp and to the point. Bollocks! Jawellnofine, but Mr Ogilvy proved when he created the seminal Rolls Royce advert, that you will read a lot of copy in advertisements. And herein lies the link to this advert - the Rolls Royce of South African cartooning - none other than Mr Jeremy Nell and his Urban Trash cartoons.
I am charging Jeremy Nell fokol for this advert because he is such an incredibly talented cartoonist who portrays all the lekker and nice kak stuff that happens on South African streets. Oh yes, I think he is portraying Kaapstad - afterall it is the crown jewel, the mother-city of South Africa. Jozi is not the mother city. Cape Town (Kaapstad) is.
Because why?
Because Jeremy Nell lives there by Lower Constantia and draws his brilliant cartoon strips for us all to read and enjoy. But not only does he draw a daily cartoon which you can see here at his website, he has also gone and put a whole loadza kak into a new book for you to buy when it gets published and hits Jeremy’s online storeshelves next week on 17th OCTOBER 2006. And I want you to help Jeremy Nell sell out the entire first edition of this his first book, which is an excitingly, exhileratingly, outrageously, side-splittingly humerously, relevent pavement-level view of South African life on the streets! Yes, I want you to go to visit URBAN TRASH on 17th October 2006 and buy the book. You know it makes sense to buy local talent output! It’s lekker to buy kak stuff that resonates within you of an experience you had on the streets at home and all that is nice and kak about the country you love.
Go to the Urban Trash site on 17th October and buy the Urban Trash book. You will not regret it. Help me sell out the entire first edition of Jeremy Nell’s Urban Trash
Kak rules hey!
