What is it about? What is this ‘passion’ we are supposed to espouse daily about our work, our career our customers, the company and stuff?
Where did this notion that I need ‘passion’ first arise? Who was the person that kickstarted this ludicrous proposition that the workforce needs ‘passion’ to make the wheels of industry grind along with less noise and turn an easier profit for the fatcats?
Bring me the head of the fuckwit who coined this phrase because I want him or her to see how much ‘passion’ Financial Directors wield when it comes time to RIF (Reduction in Force) staff and in turn to attend a gathering of ex-staff who have lost their jobs due to the ‘passionate’ demands of the fatcats wanting “scales of economy” to bring about increased ROI and most ‘passionately’ of all - a fatter bonus payout.
Anytime you want to talk to me about ‘passion’ it better be around about bedtime. Otherwise go whistle in the wind because that word means nowt to me at work.

Well, I will be damned if I EVER feel passionate about my work. We are getting our increase and bonus letters this week and I am setting myself up for a disappointment - cause that is how I feel lately, disappointed.
Stuff it.
Caz,
I hope that you will be suitably rewarded. You are deserving of the recognition.
Interestingly, the etymological origin for passion is the same for suffering….
which make sense really…
Just like the relationship between love and hate. Too close to each other.
I prefer your findings. You can read how the business version of passion makes me suffer.
Yup, amen on this one.
Smooch,
