Scientologists Invade Namibia

Look who’s trying to get hold of Namibia. Look who is taking advantage of a poor nation. Look who thinks they can just waltz in, survey police and other civic amenities and deem they have the way to improve the country and its people. Look who is a serious threat to the fabric that built and sustains Namibia.

Scientologists are a big threat to poorer nations and especially to a populus who will be more vulnerable to the scheming, cunning, seconhand car sales pitch they spew.

Watch out Namibia - the loony scientologists are coming for you.

Below is what they said of a recent trip to Namibia.

After more than 20 years of strife, Namibia won its independence from South Africa in 1990 and looked forward to a better future for its people. But with 30-40% unemployed, 11% HIV positive and an estimated 135,000 Namibian children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, the nation faces serious challenges and needs help. In fact, Namibia ranks 125th out of 177 countries in the United Nations Human Development Index, which measures life expectancy, education and standard of living. Scientologists Invade Namibia
Aware of the situations that confront Namibia, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Africa Goodwill Tour arrived in Windhoek, the capital of the country where they surveyed city police, emergency, disaster and crime prevention units, the Red Cross, nurses at the state hospital and youth council groups from the city and surrounding townships. They introduced them to the Scientology Handbook, the textbook of the Volunteer Ministers, and the broad array of subjects the book includes to help individuals and groups do better in life.

From their surveys, they found Scientology assist technology was in high demand. Assists are processes, developed by L. Ron Hubbard, that help the individual overcome trauma and address the spiritual and emotional component in healing.

[ADDENDUM]

I find myself urging the President of Namibia to not let the scientologists get a toehold in Namibia under the false pretext of aid programmes. Not too many Namibians will be aware of what scientology is or how surruptitious it is. And I think the American based cult leaders will have some slick salespeople in whatever teams are allowed into Namibia. Yes salespeople, just like buying a secondhand car maybe from a slick, smoothtalking snakeoil salesman.

Covert prosyletising is something I am certain they would stoop to. Obviously they would, or how else do they spread Hubbard’s idea.

While help may be needed in Namibia, I hope it is not on the scales they advertise in their ‘report’ which I hope is the result of a non-partisan, independent professional organisation not funded in part or whole by scientology. And I hope the government has already got robust medical (HIV/AIDS) aid, civic and education programmes up and running already which were derived of their own initiatives and will have ongoing support to fund the projects from the likes of the G8 governments rather than from a cult.

The initiative by the scientology cult appears to be nothing more than a foray into the footlights to spread their ideaologies. MAybe the trip to Namibia by Jolie and Pitt showed them the potential gullability of the nation. Just like a drooling greedy fixated meglomaniac the scientologists saw some ‘rich’ pickings in Namibia.

Well I say to the scientologists, “Stay away from Namibia and do not pervert Namibia by your precense. Invited or not.”
