Each day I find that I am amazed at some stage during my drive to and from the office by the utter stupidity of an increasing number of drivers. That I am a driver from Southern Africa who is used to being able to ‘put foot’ and speed off along a deserted road is beside the point. Why?
I think we are definately better drivers than the Brits are. Young and old. The first and foremost sign of a bad driver (my version) is:
A distinct lack of response by the driver ahead in the ‘fast’ extreme right lane who insists on driving there either at 50mph or a never wavering ‘hey look at me I use cruise control’ 72mph. Here I am a faster driver who just wants to get to my destination as quickly as possible haviong to drive at a snails pace because the arse ahead does not know the real driver code which is move over and let us faster guys through.
They make driving a hellish experience and get us steamed up by the distinct lack of care for us faster drivers. Yes, its about time these idiots were made aware that they cause us to have accidents.
And why should a slow driver impose his/her anal behaviours on us?
Why don’t they just move aside when they first spot us? This way everyone on the highways would be well and traffic would flow effortlessly and in 99% of the time, accident free. And yes we know we are going faster then they are and probably what the speed limit allows, but that is our choice.
It is a free world and if we get trapped, we pay the penalty for our own foolishness. We also accept the fact that we can die. However, slow drivers must stop trying to force us to slow down.
Only the police can and should do that.
Speed does not kill. Driver error does.
And the slow drivers cause the erros. Oh yes they do.

According to the Highway Code in the UK http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Highwaycode/DG_069862 traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right, in this case “you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right”. So don’t get pissed off with other drivers, just bend the highway code to yer own style of driving.
They should just get out my way, quite frankly!
