Part One of iScatterlings’ Exclusive & Final Blogroll Slagging Off
At long last, the first part of your exclusive and final commentary roundup about your blogs is here. I will publish Part 2 shortly.
My, my, my how quickly time flies. But we don’t want to talk about that now do we? No! Not when we want to get right on with the bitching and slagging off! So gascon if you please, kindly pass out the Kleenex and distribute the poison quills then fill their plastic champers flutes with crocodile tears and let’s get on with crushing loadsa self esteem!
Maestro, the drumroll please, it’s payback time……………..did I issue a content warning? Too bad, too late.
1. Aquila Online - Lightning Strikes Twice? No it doesn’t. Well Aquila, you lived to write about it didncha?! Here he is - still driving dangerously with a handheld camera at 145kpm with thunder and lightningbolts coming out his arse. I really craved this site until it became sooooo popular! And then I hit the green envy phase and I wanted his hits. So, pass the lightning bolt please, I wanna see if it goes back where it came from. [Rated or Slated] Quality blog. Diamond geezer. Benchmark for bloggers with cameras at 145kph
2. Bad Language - You won’t believe this but Matthew really is blogosphere’s intellectual. He is suave and debonair incarnate and I bet he is a natural raconteur as well as being a pilot. Bloody know it all. Matthew makes Stephen Fry look like a 11 plus failure and Ian Fleming’s skill as great as the author(s) of Viz. And here is why - he goes visiting museums. Nice. Cool thing to do. [Rated or Slated] Superbly understated British excellence. An E-Type among flotsam & Model Ts. Oh to be just a smidgen as smart and adept at writing as Mathhew.
3. Guy Kawasaki - Blogosphere’s great essayist is still evangelising technology. [Rated or Slated] Guy provides quality content. That is a consistent theme, but still the same it does create a sense of the boring, sterile factory format. If you ain’t a tekkie, where’s the fun?
4. Bloute - Gaaning aan about a blik. OK if that is what floats your blik Bloute, gaan maar aan! [Rated or Slated] The last post is dated July 2007 so I regret that one of the better Afrikaans blogs is no more
5. ChampagneHeathen - What superlatives are left to describe this action-packed partying, effervescent blogger. There is never a dull moment except for the festive season break. [Rated or Slated] If you have not got Champers in your life then you do not have the bubbles fizzing and crackling away alongside you as very lively company. Get with the programme if you want a to be part of the scene.
6. Cheap Tart Tart is into Dylan bigtime. Well, lyrically at least! [Rated or Slated] Tart is the best exponent of sophisticated poetry blogging. It is wonderful and so vivid. Pure unadulterated chic. Special stuff.
7. Cook Sister Damn it, now Jeanne has got Skeletons in her pantry. [Rated or Slated] For as long as man shall eat, Jeanne will be needed. Hey, I want to be as needed too. Chefs always get to be right at the heart or epicentre of life. Jeanne is.
8. Chewing The Cud Loves the cats. Loves them proper. So want cat stuff - here it is. Along with fear of babies! [Rated or Slated] Cud has a special blog. Each post is typically fronted by a kittypic. The content is good and has a message we can all take away with us. I like this blog too muchly.
9. Dave Duarte David’s tagline is ‘Marketing Geek’. A geek he is not. Certainly the best S African blogging marketer to date. [Rated or Slated] And what makes David so good is his ability to speak to you, not at you nor patronise you with tekkiespeak. A breath of fresh air. And his affection for marketing is palpable. A great site that will be brilliant won’t it David…..?!
10. Eric Edelstein Eric is a doyen of the new techno South African VC scene and one of the SAFFER blogosphere elders. Weeeeell he is isn’t he. I mean, he has some gray bits in his bonnet now. Must be all that worry about what to do on yet another perfect blue skied day in paradise![Rated or Slated] Mr Supercool has a neat slick blog. He’s just revamped it. It’s the bollocks. Beneath this smooth exterior beats the heart of a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. So best keep on the good side of Eric. Just in case you need a few bob to kickstart your new internet venture!
There. That is is for now. If your blog was not mentioned, don’t worry you should be featured in Part 2 to be published before Christmas Day.
