The BBC reports that the Los Angeles, USA archdiocese has alone paid out a 1/4 (25%) of the Roman Catholic Church’s global sexual abuse compensation claims.

“……It would take the total paid out by US dioceses to $2bn since 1950, with LA paying about one quarter of that.

Since 2002 nearly 1,000 people have filed such claims against the Roman Catholic Church in California alone.”

Doesn’t it seem that there’s a problem at LA’s Roman Catholic Church? Maybe they should move to Nevada far, far, far, far away from any young children. Maybe they should really investigate moving to some truly remote part of the desert where nobody goes. A move to Siberia should not be discounted either.

Or they could just shut up shop and release a load of paedophiles into mainstream USA? Nope. Bad idea. So hey, why not burn the offending staff (priests and Bishops) at the stake?

That is of course what the Roman Catholic church did so well to non-believers before, but oh dear, these are priests or to put it another way, God’s staff and we cannot burn these ‘pure’ do-gooders can we? Instead, the Pope as 2nd in command to God, recognises the RC church is incredibly flawed and tacitly supports the boss, (God), whose lack of reaction, (I was expecting fire and brimstone to smite down the offenders), and now by implication, forgives his staff if they confess that they feel up and fondle the private bits of young children.

But let’s not forget that the RC church has the knowledge about the burning at the stake technology buried deep in its Vatican vaults. And why not resurrect (bad pun) The Inquisition years of firsthand experience at stake burning expertise. They have the knowledge in abundance to fall on, so why not use this latent skill on the paedophile priests and Bishops?

It’ll saves prison space and render the planets streets safe while also saving the RC’s treasury from paying out even more dosh in fines to court.

When God called Moses to go alone up the hill for a quiet and exclusive tete a tete, he somehow forgot to tell Moses to chisel into the stone tablets the 11th Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Touch up Kids Lest Ye Be Burned at the Stake.

“In February 2004, a report commissioned by the Church said more than 4,000 Roman Catholic priests in the US had faced sexual abuse allegations in the last 50 years.”

Fortunately for us, Moses went up the hill with blank tablets, a mallet and a chisel just in case he had to take some dictation! Luckily he recorded 10 of God’s edicts for mankind. Mind you, he should have got all 107 of them.

Because from the pictures in books of the tablets, it looks like he had learned shorthand at secretarial college. Imagine chiselling out a stone tablet in shorthand?! Must be hell on the wrists. And luckily for Moses, God spoke slowly. Very slowly. But Moses only managed to write out 10. No accounting for gene pooling is there?! He might have suffered attention deficit disorder.

Summary: The above just bolsters up my conclusion that I cannot follow a religion. Each religion is based on a concept which a flawed human created. So it is bound to cock up sooner or later. The hypocrisy that is inherent in all religion with all its lies, murders, money-grubbing, power hungry leadership and deceptions inflicted on its followers just make religion a mockery of all things that are regarded as spiritually sacred.

Think what you will, believe in what you will but do not ever tell me there is a God.
